카지노사이트바카라사이트 Mayor urges greater remote tax relief
MILWAUKEE - Wisconsin legislators who want to help businesses expand on their property taxes want to add more remote tax relief.
The proposal in the State Assembly comes as voters begin to head back into the polls this November.
One of the many tax breaks the Assembly is trying to approve includes the tax exemption the state has under federal law for property tax exempt properties.
"Property taxes in Wisconsin should always be the same regardless of which party governs," Assembly Speaker Robin Vos, R-Seward, said in a prepared statement. "That's why the Assembly is proposing to make it easier for the wealthy to save money through tax deductions and credits."
In exchange for the property tax exemption, which comes with some steep cost reductions, small businesses like farmers could save up to $400 on their taxes and even up to $1,000 in property taxes on new homes.
Vos's proposal comes as he and others look at extending the deduction for the state's top 10 percent of households.
He's also trying to convince others to make it easier for small businesses to save for retirement.
Supporters of tax exemptions for smaller businesses have argued the idea of tax relief for businesses is a good thing for everyone.
"There are a lot of issues and opportunities here and if it helps our economy I think it's a good thing," said Paul Pazdahniak, a senior adviser to the Wisconsin Economic Development Corp.
According to the state Office of Economic and Workforce Development, about 10,000 business owners are looking for ways to save money using tax deductions.
